Frequently Asked Questions
The mandi price is the price at which farmers sell their crop to traders at the local agricultural produce market (APMC). It changes every day with crop quality, arrivals (how much produce reached the mandi), demand and the weather.
Mandi prices are usually updated every day based on the day's new arrivals and auctions at the mandi. If a mandi has no data on a given day, the price from the last available date is shown so you always get the latest information.
The minimum price is the lowest price at which the crop sold that day, the maximum is the highest, and the average (modal) price is the price at which most deals took place — this is usually taken as that day's real market price.
If not enough mandi data was recorded in your district that day, we show prices from nearby districts or mandis in the same state so you still get a fair estimate. The page clearly says when this happens.
Yes. The price depends on the mandi's location, local demand, the volume of arrivals and transport costs. So even mandis in the same district can have slightly different prices for a crop — which is why we show each mandi's price separately.
