PM-KISAN Latest Update and How to Check Your Next Instalment

PM-KISAN beneficiaries waiting for their next ₹2,000 payment should check two things separately: the government’s release announcement and their own beneficiary status. A national instalment release does not mean every registered farmer will receive the payment on the same day.
The official PM-KISAN portal confirms that the 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar in Hooghly, West Bengal. As of our source check on 30 September 2026, we could not verify an official date for the 24th instalment. Treat dates circulating without a government announcement as unconfirmed.
PM-KISAN instalment update at a glance
| Detail | Verified information |
|---|---|
| Scheme benefit | ₹6,000 a year for an eligible farmer family |
| Payment structure | Three instalments of ₹2,000 |
| Latest release verified for this article | 23rd instalment, 20 June 2026 |
| Next instalment date | Not verified in the official sources checked |
| Official website | pmkisan.gov.in |
Do not confuse a four-month benefit period with a fixed transfer date. Plan urgent input purchases around money already available, rather than an expected payment mentioned in a social media post.
Who is eligible for PM-KISAN?
PM-KISAN supports eligible landholding farmer families, subject to the scheme’s exclusions and verification of land records. For this purpose, a family includes the husband, wife and minor children. The benefit is per eligible family, not separately for every family member or every field.
Owning agricultural land alone does not establish eligibility. Institutional landholders and specified higher-income categories are excluded. These include income-tax payers in the previous assessment year and certain government employees, pensioners, public office holders and practising professionals, subject to the detailed scheme rules and exceptions.
If you recently inherited or purchased land, ask the local agriculture office to check the applicable land-record and eligibility rules. Registration is an application for verification; it is not a payment guarantee.
How to check your instalment status
Open the official PM-KISAN website and use Know Your Status in the farmer services section. Keep your registration number and access to your registered mobile number ready. Follow the portal’s instructions if you need to recover your registration number.
Check the information shown against your record, including verification status and payment details. Save the exact status message or a screenshot. This helps the agriculture office or service centre identify the issue without repeating the whole application.
Compare the portal result with your bank statement. An SMS may arrive late, and a message from a third party is not proof that the transfer reached your account.
What to do if the payment is pending
| Issue to check | Where to seek help |
|---|---|
| eKYC incomplete | Official portal or authorised Common Service Centre |
| Land record or ownership mismatch | Local revenue and agriculture offices |
| Name or identity mismatch | Relevant Aadhaar, bank or scheme-record service |
| Bank account or DBT problem | Your bank branch |
| Eligibility under review | Agriculture office or official PM-KISAN grievance service |
The portal states that eKYC is mandatory. Complete it through the official options available to you. Do not pay an unknown agent who promises to release an instalment immediately.
A completed eKYC record does not automatically resolve a land mismatch or an exclusion-category issue. Similarly, changing a bank account does not correct the ownership details held by the revenue department.
Keep a small document folder
Keep your registration details, identity documents, bank passbook and relevant land records together. Add copies of any correction request and its acknowledgement number. If you visit an office, ask which exact field needs correction and how to check whether the change has been accepted.
Never share an OTP, ATM PIN or UPI PIN with someone claiming to approve a government payment. A genuine status enquiry should not require transferring money to a personal account.
